Bot commands

The TeamsPIM bot is mainly there to send you cards. It answers a few simple commands, but you cannot request or approve anything by typing — requests are made in the Dashboard tab, and approvals on the cards.

Type What the bot replies
help What the bot does and what you can type. commands and what can you do work too.
hello or hi A short introduction.

Anything else gets this reply:

I didn’t catch that. I answer help, hello and hi, and approvals happen on the cards I send you. Type help to see what I can do.

When TeamsPIM is installed for you, the bot sends a welcome message. It explains that:

  • When a PIM request needs your approval, the bot sends you a card in the chat. You add a justification and select Approve or Deny.
  • When you raise a request yourself, the bot tracks it on a card and tells you when it is approved or denied.
  • To request or activate an eligible role, you open the TeamsPIM tab.

It ends with:

Cards start arriving once your organization’s TeamsPIM subscription is active, your tenant is connected, and a license is assigned to you.

This means you will not get any cards until three things are in place: your organisation’s TeamsPIM subscription is active, your tenant has been set up for TeamsPIM, and an administrator has assigned you a TeamsPIM licence. If you installed TeamsPIM yourself before your organisation finished setting it up, this is expected. See Requirements.
